Ribbon Strain

Ribbon guppies carry extended, trailing fin rays that flow well past the body, giving the fish a long draping outline that looks completely different from a standard guppy in motion. The trait comes with a catch: ribbon males often cannot breed naturally, so a ribbon line has to be maintained by crossing back to normal finned females.That is the whole reason a ribbon pair costs more. It takes longer, the yield is lower, and the fish needs more tank time before it is worth selling. Ours are grown out fully in Pune on live baby brine shrimp and imported feeds before they are listed.Keep ribbons in gentle flow and avoid sharp decor, because those trailing rays catch easily. Pairs are Rs 500 and ship as juveniles so the finnage continues to extend after the fish settles into your water.
