Shipping Policy

At Classic Guppy, every fish is carefully packed and shipped with care from our home in Pune, Maharashtra. Here’s everything you need to know about delivery, our live arrival guarantee, and after-sale support.

Delivery Timelines

Why the 11:30 AM cut-off? Every guppy is conditioned before it travels. We rest it in clean, temperature-matched water and hold back food for a few hours so the bag stays clean in transit and the fish arrives strong. That preparation takes most of the morning, which is why an order placed after 11:30 AM ships the following day rather than the same afternoon.

Live Arrival Guarantee

We guarantee your fish will arrive alive. If a fish arrives dead, we will send a replacement at no extra cost.

To claim a replacement, you must record a clear, unedited unboxing video showing the box being opened and the fish inside before removal from the packaging. Without this video, we will not be able to process a replacement.

Fish Quality

All guppies are sold as breeding pairs and are raised as high-quality stock. Our fish are fed a premium diet including live baby brine shrimp (BBS), Otohime, and NRD, so you receive strong, healthy, well-coloured guppies.

After-Purchase Support

Our support does not end at delivery. If you need food suggestions, medicine recommendations, or general care guidance after your guppies arrive, just reach out to us on WhatsApp and our team will be happy to help.

How your fish are packed

Packing is where most online fish orders are actually lost, so it is worth explaining exactly what we do rather than just saying the box is packed with care.

What to do the day the box arrives

  1. Open the box in a room with the lights low. Several days in a dark bag makes bright light stressful.
  2. Float the sealed bag in your tank for about twenty minutes so the temperatures even out.
  3. Open the bag and add a small cup of your tank water every ten minutes for the next half hour.
  4. Net the fish across. Throw the bag water away rather than pouring it into your tank.
  5. Leave the light off for the rest of the day and do not feed until the next morning.
  6. Expect them to sit low and look pale for a day. Colour usually returns by the second morning.

Making a replacement claim

Start the video before you open the box and keep it running until the bag is open and the fish are clearly visible. Do not cut it, do not start filming after the bag is open, and do not take the fish out first. Once a fish has been netted into a tank there is no way to tell a travel loss from something that happened at home, which is the only reason we insist on it. Send the video on WhatsApp and we will confirm the replacement on the same thread.

Delays and weather

Couriers occasionally run late, and we would rather hear about it from you early than after a box has been sitting at a hub for two days. If tracking stalls, message us and we will chase it. During peak summer we will tell you honestly if we think your route is risky that week rather than shipping anyway and hoping.

After your fish arrive

Support does not end at delivery. Ask us about tank size, stocking numbers, feeding, water changes or fry any time on the same WhatsApp thread. Our guppy care guides cover the rest, and there are separate pages for buyers in Pune and for buyers elsewhere in India.
