Half Moon Tail

Half moon tail guppies carry a caudal that opens to a full semicircle when the male displays, roughly 180 degrees edge to edge. It is one of the harder tail shapes to keep clean through a breeding line, because the spread narrows again within a couple of generations if you stop selecting for it.The tail is also the part that suffers most in transit and in a tank with too much flow. Ours are checked individually before bagging and nothing ships with a split or a folded edge. At home, keep the filter outlet gentle and avoid sharp decor, and the spread will hold.Topaz Blue is our half moon line, bred here in Pune and raised on live baby brine shrimp and imported feeds. Pairs are Rs 300 and ship as juveniles, so the tail is still widening when the fish arrives.
