Mosaic Strain

Mosaic guppies carry large, irregular blocks of colour that connect across the body and tail to form a broken, patchwork pattern — distinct from the fine speckling of a grass strain or the netted lines of a lace pattern. Each fish is unique, since the exact shape and spread of the patches varies from one individual to the next even within the same spawn.Pink Mosaic is the most popular colour break in this pattern, pairing warm pink-to-red patches over a paler body so the mosaic effect stays sharp and easy to see even from outside the tank. The pattern is fully genetic and holds up well as the fish matures, unlike some colour strains that fade with age.We breed our mosaic line in Pune on live baby brine shrimp and ship pairs in insulated, heat-packed boxes. Pairs are Rs 350. Give a pair a one foot tank with steady, moderate-hardness water, and the patch pattern will keep developing for the first two to three months.
